During Your Stay

Kitchenette

Amenities: Cleaning supplies, tea, coffee, sugar, basic condiments and cooking oils and spices, french press, kettle, toaster, bar fridge with ice, electric hot plate, pots, pans, silverware, servingware.

IMPORTANT: For the Electric Hot Plate (please read instructions which should be nearby), Kettle and Toaster always ensure they are all off and unplugged when not in use. Please move the electric hot plate to the counter when using.

There is a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink.

The microwave is a bit quirky (it’s an inverter microwave for better heating) and even when you turn it off, it will sound as though it’s still on for a bit. It will stop after a minute.

We kindly ask that you clean any dishes you use during your stay if possible. Dishwashing soap and sponges are under the sink along with any other cleaning supplies you might need.

The trash bin is in bottom cupboard next to fridge. If it gets full and you need to take out the trash during your stay, there is an external storage closet – the first door on your left when you exit the apartment and a large trash can in there.

All recycling will go into the external storage closet in the box labelled recyling.

Please make sure to pull the front door closed firmly (will lock automatically) and that the kitchen window is closed when you go out.

Bathroom

Amenities: Towels, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, cotton balls, rounds and buds, hair dryer/diffuser, clothes steamer, first-aid kit.

IMPORTANT: For the clothes steamer (please read instructions which should be nearby) and hair dryer always ensure they are all off and unplugged when not in use.

The door is original with the building and can sometimes stick so make sure to give it a hard turn; or leave it ajar if you are alone.

Bedroom/Living Area

Amenities: Smart TV, tape, scissors, notepad, coloring book and pencils (just for the creative fun of it!), books, blackout curtains, heating/air conditioning.

The heating and A/C are the same system; you can use the remote that is hanging by the doorway to adjust accordingly. Point right at the unit to get it to respond. Please turn off when you leave the apartment.

There are empty under-bed storage boxes in addition to the empty dresser should you wish to store your clothes and items.

We invite you to unplug when in bed; your phone can charge on the small shelf at the foot of the bed. Don’t forget to take your charger home!

There is a train that comes by at various times of the day. It does not run very early or in the night but we have provided a sound machine in case you need it. It is located in the dresser.

Windows do not open all the way; the fire escape is out the window. Please make sure to close the window when you head out.

The curtains are a delicate linen, please keep them clean and open and close them gently.

Artwork

The gorgeous textured wall mural you see in the kitchen was done by an amazingly talented local artist: Erica Toh of Textures by Erica. It’s one of a kind! If you take some cute pictures in front of it, please tag her @texturesbyerica.

All the other textured artwork you see in the apartment is her work as well and the pieces are for sale. Please reach out to us or to Erica directly if you’re interested in any of them as souveniers.

Other Things to Note

The beach at this location is not suitable for swimming due to a steep drop-off, strong undertow and unpredictable waves. Hardinge Road Beach, where swimming and other water activities are popular and safe (monitored by lifeguards) is about a 9 minute drive down the road.

There are shared laundry facilities, in a separate building downstairs in the courtyard. This has a washing machine, dryer and clothes line. Handheld steamer provided in the apartment.

We can provide free trailer parking at our home which is about 15 minutes away.
