Check-In Details

Packing and Weather

The weather in Napier is usually mild but we do have big fluctuations and a strong sun. Layers are always a good idea and please bring sunscreen and hats. Very important! We’ll have a couple of umbrellas but you might want to pack rainboots and a jacket.

Getting Here

We are at 541 Marine Parade, Napier South, Napier 4110, and we are the middle apartment above the breezeway.

You can park anywhere on the street for free, parking on both sides of the road is permitted and it’s usually quite open. No meters and you can leave the car there for the duration of your stay. Please do NOT park in the parking lot at the back of the building or block the drive.

Once you’ve arrived at the Ranui building, please walk through the breezeway in the middle into the back courtyard. On your righthand side you’ll see the stairs. We are the second door on the left, with the black knocker on the door.

Please be extra careful climbing the stairs, especially when raining! They are a bit narrow and the railing is not very high.

Entry

You’ll receive a unique code that will be valid from 2 PM on check-in day until 11 AM on check-out.

To open the door, place your palm flat above the handle until you see the keypad appear (see pictures below). Type in your code followed by the # key to open; you should hear a sound and see the green light. The door is set to lock automatically when closed. Even though from the inside it seems like it’s unlocked, it will be locked from the outside. There is tape over the setting that turns off the auto-lock. Please do not touch the tape or change the setting and please do not prop the door open for security reasons.
